The EU has reacted and created a regulation on the reduction of CO2 emissions that will revolutionise the automotive industry and make a lasting impact: From now on, sanctions and penalties are imposed on automotive manufacturers that exceed defined CO2 limits.
OEMs and automotive manufacturers have taken the first steps and applied downsizing to develop engines with the same performance in less space: the bi-turbo charger, the sophisticated technology for turbo chargers! The reduction in cylinders leads to a reduction in CO2 emissions. Additionally, our components feature lightweight designs for reductions with twice the effect!
At etm, we take up these technologies and develop them further. To support the development of high performance engines using turbo charger technology, we apply special materials: technical plastics like elastomers, thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers. These lightweight materials boast special properties. They are resistant against temperatures, chemicals and abrasion and withstand the highest pressures – ideal requirements for application in highly complex turbo charger engines.
Lowering CO2 impacts and reducing the weight of vehicles at the same time is not only supported by our products but also by our manufacturing processes. With injection moulding, extrusion and blow technology, we apply manufacturing processes with low CO2 emissions and place great value on renewable energies and resource-saving environmental management.
